[NA Eun-kyung, Edaily Reporter] Graphy, a developer of 3D-printed shape memory aligners (SMA), said Monday it held the Graphy Latin America Symposium 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Cartagena, Colombia, on May 24-25.

The event marked the company‘s third standalone academic symposium in Latin America, following previous events held in Mexico in 2024 and Argentina in February this year. According to the company, orthodontic society officials and digital dentistry experts from 12 Latin American countries, including Colombia, attended the symposium.

The symposium focused on Graphy’s shape memory aligner technology and its clinical applications. Ravindra Nanda, professor emeritus at the University of Connecticut and a leading authority in modern orthodontic biomechanics, delivered the keynote speech. Other speakers included Kim Ki-beom of Saint Louis University and Joaquin Ariza, former president of the Colombian Orthodontic Society.

Graphy said it plans to accelerate the expansion of its academic and distribution networks in the Latin American market through the event. The company said it currently operates clinical and distribution networks across 14 Latin American countries, including through Mexican dealer TD&S as well as partners in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

Latin America is considered one of the fastest-growing markets for in-house orthodontic systems, in which dental clinics directly produce aligners using on-site equipment. Graphy said its Direct Printed Aligner (DPA) solution aligns with this market trend.

Global partners including Medit, Laon Medi, U.S.-based Titan and Spain-based Nemo also participated in the event. Nemo, Titan and Laon Medi support SMA design and manufacturing software based on Graphy‘s photo-curable resin, Tera Harz.

“Latin America is one of the fastest-growing regions in the digital orthodontics market,” a Graphy official said. “We plan to continue expanding our presence in the local market through academic collaboration and broader distribution networks.”
